Requirements for Boarding & Daycare
Health & Age Requirements
I accept dogs of all ages. Puppies must be over 12 weeks and on a vaccination program.
Puppies or shelter dogs must have been in the home for at least two weeks before attending daycare.
All dogs over the age of 8 months must be spayed or neutered.
All dogs require up-to-date vaccinations for rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella. Proof of vaccination is required.
Vaccinations
Proof of vaccination must be provided before any daycare or boarding service. All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations:
Rabies: Protects against the deadly rabies virus.
Distemper/Lepto: Part of the DHLPP vaccine (Distemper, Leptospirosis, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), which is essential for overall canine health.
Bordetella (Kennel Cough): Required to prevent the spread of respiratory infections in group settings.
Evaluations
All dogs must complete an evaluation before being accepted into daycare or boarding. This ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for all pups in our care. Evaluations at Oak Tree Dog Oasis for both daycare and boarding screen for the following:
Temperament and Sociability: To ensure the dog can safely and comfortably interact with other dogs in a pack setting and adapt to the boarding environment.
Behavioral Traits: Identifying any signs of aggression, excessive fear, or other behaviors that might disrupt the daycare or boarding environment.
Anxiety Levels: Assessing whether the dog experiences anxiety that may make it uncomfortable or unsafe in the daycare or boarding environment.
Energy Level and Play Style: Determining the dog’s energy level, matching its play style with suitable companions in daycare, and ensuring appropriate care in a boarding setting.
Compatibility with Pack Setting: Ensuring the dog can adapt to a group environment for daycare and a structured boarding environment for overnight stays.
Destructive Behaviors: We screen dogs for destructive tendencies to ensure their safety and the upkeep of boarding suites and daycare facilities.
